28% growth and customer expansion confirms engineers’ need to automate design processes
Wayne, PA—June 3, 2009—Phoenix Integration, provider of software for engineering automation, integration, and design optimization, today reported a strong start to 2009 despite analyst forecasts of “flat growth” for IT providers. Phoenix’s first quarter 2009 revenue increased over 28% in the quarter ended March 31, 2009, from first quarter 2008 due to growing sales of software licenses, consulting services, and training.
Amid global economic slowdown, Phoenix’s ability to provide innovative solutions that enable engineers across industries to automate their design processes for significant cost and time reductions has contributed to consecutive quarter-over-quarter profitable growth since 2005.
In Q1 2009, Phoenix grew its global customer base to include the following new customers who will leverage Phoenix solutions to improve their engineering processes: Alenia Aeronautica, Alion Science and Technology, Arup, Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC), Gibbs & Cox, and Orizzonte Sistemi Navali (OSN). Additionally, Phoenix continues to increase its software deployments with existing customers in support of their expanding Multidisciplinary Optimization (MDO) initiatives. Some of these customers include: Airbus, BAE Systems, The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA), Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), NASA, Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC), and Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Corporation company (NYSE:UTX).
"Customers continue to see the value that Phoenix's products and services bring to their respective organizations, especially in the face of current challenging market conditions,” explained Scott Woyak, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Integration. “Our customers are not abandoning their R&D efforts. Now more than ever our customers rely on the high ROI they achieve by leveraging Phoenix's products to reduce costs and meet design challenges."
Phoenix Integration’s suite of product integration and design optimization software, which includes flagship product, PHX ModelCenter®, enables design engineers to perform complex design exploration and optimization techniques in the preliminary and conceptual phases of product design. Phoenix software automates manual data translation enabling engineers to analyze more designs, faster. Engineers are able to find the best, most robust designs that meet cost, risk, and performance requirements while minimizing cycle times, saving money, and reducing time to market.
Phoenix anticipates continued growth in 2009 with enhancements to its product design and modeling and simulation framework capabilities, a robust data management solution and next-generation framework for simulation-driven design due for release later this year.
