For decades the fields of multidisciplinary analysis (MDA) and computer-aided design (CAD) have evolved independently, even though both are integral to the process of designing complex systems. By fusing the tools used to conduct analysis with those used to develop a design, you can create a robust environment for performing multidisciplinary optimization (MDO).

This web presentation featured Clifton Davies and Atherton Carty of the Conceptual Design Tools and Processes organization within the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. They provided an overview of their team's real world aircraft design environment and their successes with integrating their CAD tool (CATIA V5) with ModelCenter to perform MDO.
