Phoenix Integration presented an informational webcast on tools and methodologies that can be used to introduce CFD early in the design process. Practical techniques were described for using existing CFD models (Fluent, StarCD, Plot3d, etc...) to efficiently perform shape optimization.

• Use of existing CFD models to define the shape design problem.
• Selection of appropriate optimization methodologies.
• Shape optimization without the need to re-mesh.
• Use of existing computational resources to accelerate the process.
