Design Optimization Educational Series: Sensitivity Analysis

Phoenix Integration will be presenting the first in a three part educational series on the application of Design Optimization to real world problems. Successful application of Design Optimization requires progressive exploration of a problem, beginning with Sensitivity Analysis:

  1. Sensitivity Analysis: Determining key drivers in a design.
  2. Optimization Analysis: Applying guided search techniques to find optimal solutions.
  3. Probabilistic Analysis: Exploring the robustness of a solution.

The focus of this webcast will be Sensitivity Analysis. Presentation topics will include:

  • Parametric Studies
  • Carpet Plots
  • Design of Experiments
  • Main Effects Analysis
  • Response Surface Visualization

This presentation will describe how to approach a problem for the first time and determine the key drivers. Techniques will be discussed for identifying, understanding, and visualizing driving parameters in a design. These techniques will be demonstrated using the Phoenix 2006 Suite of tools, including ModelCenter and CenterLink.
