Abstract

Phoenix Integration is proud to participate with Zuken and Vitech in the “Digital Engineering Basics” Virtual Event Series, hosted by Zuken.

As Digital Engineering continues to gain momentum, there are a lot of questions about how to create a product model and the associated design process. Companies are struggling with the model transition to detailed design and model relevancy throughout the product lifecycle. Zuken is presenting a three-part webinar series exploring the Digital Engineering Basics of product model creation using MBSE, the use of trade studies, and implementing a wire harness. The webinars are built upon a real-world video drone design.

Once you have registered for this webinar, you can register for Parts 2 and 3 here:

Abstract:

As Digital Engineering continues to gain momentum, there are a lot of questions about how to create a product model and the associated design process. Companies are struggling with the model transition to detailed design and model relevancy throughout the product lifecycle. Zuken is presenting a three-part webinar series exploring the Digital Engineering development process utilizing a video drone example. Part 1 covers a systems engineering approach to model creation. Part 2 will demonstrate how trade studies are performed on the product model to verify and optimize the architecture. Part 3 moves the drone model into the detailed design for wire harness implementation.

This webinar will use systems engineering best practices to build the video drone model based on product marketing requirements. Using Vitech’s GENESYS product the system context will be defined that includes the drone, remote control, a phone App, a GPS satellite, and the operating environment. The marketing requirements are then decomposed into requirements, behaviors, parameters, and ultimately an architecture. Different aspects of the model will be explored using SysML diagrams including the Constraint Definitions which are used in part 2 of the webinar series for trade studies.

In this webinar, you’ll learn:

  • A Systems Engineering approach to building a product model
  • How product requirements are incorporated in the product model
  • Utilizing System Context and Use Case to develop functional behavior and further develop requirements in the model
  • The construction of an architecture that enables transitions to detailed design
  • The use of rich visualizations (SysML diagrams) for building and reviewing the product model
  • Model access through Excel and Team View

Who should attend:

System Engineers, Senior Engineers, Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, Architecture Engineers, Engineering Managers
